Indigenous films are those films and documentaries which reflect the culture, language and society of indigenous peoples. On the other hand, indigenous filmmakers are individuals from indigenous communities who make films and documentaries based on indigenous subject and issues. Even without state's support, some indigenous individual and community have been able to produce films on their own. There have already been more than 100 movies on different mother-tongues. However, most of these movies were not able to reach the minimum requirement in order to be good movie. They lack in various aspects such as script, cinematography and acting and so on. Indigenous Film Archive supports indigenous filmmakers to enhance their capacity to show their talent in filmmaking. |
